Information
Former Saturday Night Live member Tina Fey has a somewhat biographical touch to her TV series about the head writer of a fictitious skit show at 30 Rockerfeller Plaza in New York City. Liz Lemon, who is played by Fey, faces more personal issues in season 3, like trying to adopt a child, as well as find some new romance in her life. ‘The Girly Show with Tracy Jordan’ gets a hiccup in the casting when Tracy threatens to leave the show because of his video game success. Known for their celebrity guest appearances, either playing a character or themselves, season 3’s got some great ones. Steve Martin plays a very wealthy, but very germaphobic businessman, Liz bothers Oprah on a flight and compares her smell to "rose water and warm laundry", and Jennifer Aniston plays Liz’s old roommate from Chicago who becomes obsessed by Jack (Alec Baldwin). Season 3 was nominated for 22 Emmy Awards in 2009, beating the record for most nominations by one show at an award ceremony. Have a look out for Will & Grace’s Megan Mullaly as the adoption agency evaluator. The DVD also comes with commentaries on selected episodes, as well as a ‘Behind-The-Scenes look’ with real Muppets.
